Halter classes do not require halters/bridles. If these are used, the headgear must be breed appropariate, in good repair and sized to fit correctly.
TRADITIONAL HALTER CLASSES:
The traditional halter classes include any PS, Breyer and models of traditional or classic sizes only.
STABLE MATE CLASSES:
The stable mate classes are for any horse smaller than but including the Pebbles, Lb Resins. Stable mate classes will be held at the same time as the Traditional halter classes.
Other Stock Breeds:
Includes, but not limited to, Rangerbred, Grade Horses of stock type, Example( Pintaloosa).
Spanish Breeds:
Includes, but not limited to, Andalusion, Lusitano, Paso Fino, Lippizan, Peruvian Paso, and Spanish Barb.
Gaited Breeds:
Includes, but not limited to, NSH, Saddlebreds, Foxtrotters,etc.
English Ponies:
Includes, but not limited to, Welsh, Halflinger, Welara, Exmoor, and Grade ponies of this type.
STOCK PONIES:
Includes, but not limited to, POA, Quarter pony and other grade ponies of stock type.
Other Ponies:
Includes, but not limited to, Draft ponies, Other ponies not fitting into any other Class.
OTHER DRAFTERS:
In cludes, but not limited to, Suffolk Punch, Irish Draft, Welch Cob, Friesian and grade horses of draft type.
Mules:
Includes, but not limited to Draft mules, Saddle mules, Miniature mules.
DONKEYS:
Includes, but not limited to Donkeys, Miniature Burros.
EXOTICS:
Includes, but not limited to Zebras, Zorse or any other equine animal of this type. Fantasy animals Not Included.
DECORATORS:
Includes, woodys, and Fantasy Color horses like Red, Blue, Green, Marbled etc.
SPORT HORSE:
Includes, but not limited to, Appaloosa Sport horses and other horses of this type.
WARM BLOODS:
Includes, but not limited to, Cleveland Bay, Gelderlanders, Oldenbergs and other horses of this type.
OTHER PURE / PART BREEDS:
Includes, but not limited to, Hackney Horses, Icelandics, and other horses that do not fit into any other classes.
WESTERN PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES
WESTERN PLEASURE:
This event reqires a saddle with either one or two cinches. Junior horses(under 5 years of age) may use O-ring or D-ring snaffle, must have open reins, which are held, crossed in two hands. A Bosal may be used with a closed rein held in both hands. Exhibits should be displayed with a 3x5 card explaining the age of the horse for Junior horses. Curb bits and ring snaffles should have curb straps. Curb bits should have open or romel reins. The use of training devices in Prohibited; These include but are not limited to boots or leg wraps, drawreins and martingales. Western Pleasure Horses are shown at a walk, Jog or Lope.
WESTERN TRAIL:
The tack must be proper for the event shown, same as Western Pleasure. Junior horses see Western Pleasure above. Trail Class Patterns include standing, walking, jogging, lope,backing up, side passing or sometimes a jump.
OTHER WESTERN PERFORMANCE:
This event includes Packing(leading pack animals), Lead line, Reining, Western Riding, Sidesaddle, Ranch work, western games etc. A 3x5 card explaining the action the horse is performing should accompany the display.
WORKING WESTERN:
All events reqire Cattle. The saddle requires a double cinch for roping and cutting events. Tie downs and closed reins are prohibited in cutting events. Roping events allow tie downs. Protective boots are allowed in all cattle events.
ENGLISH PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES
HUNTSEAT PLEASURE:
This event is for light breeds and stock horses. The horse must have a huntseat saddle with snaffle bridle and pad only. The use of training devices is prohibited.
HUNTER / JUMPER / CROSS COUNTRY:
These events are for show ring hunter, field hunter, and stadium and cross-country events. The show ring hunter, field hunter and cross country are natural colored jumps(brush, water etc.). Stadium jumps are imaginative, colorful (normally bdright colors) numbered and flagged with red flag on right and white on left.
OTHER ENGLISH PERFORMANCE:
Includes sidesaddle, sidesaddle over fences, Lead line and Fox hunting.
OTHER PERFORMANCE:
WESTERN GAMES:
Includes any type of games in Western Tack. Closed reins,boots,leg wraps,tie downs and martingales are permitted. A card explanining the action the horse is performing should accompany the display.
DRESSAGE:
A card with level and movement is required. A copy of the rulebook with the event showing is recommended or a copy of the test. Lower level events are ridden with a hunt seat or dressage saddle and snaffle bridle. Leg wraps or boots are prohibited in any dressage competition.
This Class is for anything that does not fit into any of the other classes. Like Harness, horse race, ect.
